Gaddafi is not ready to go down without a fight. But, he is definitely wrong yet again, by targeting children as young as eight. Gaddafi’s forces are committing all sorts of crime right now in Libya.
It has been reported that children are even being raped. There have been horrific stories leaking out of Libya. Most of them were stories of sexual abuse. In one incident, a group of girls have been abducted and held captive for 4 days. When finally released, the girls were too traumatized to even say a word.
Some children have been forced to watch their mothers being raped and their fathers killed. Those who have been able to flee the besieged cities of Ajbadia, Misrata and Rus-Lanuf have confirmed the ongoing sexual assaults. Michael Mahrt, a Save The Children staff, reported that while the reports of sexual violence are unconfirmed, the reports have been consistently repeated in a number of camps where families are in temporary refuge.
