BBC presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have been attacked for their anti-Mexican jokes on Top Gear. On last week's show the trio joked about the performance of Mexican cars. Richard Hammond said they would be "lazy, feckless, flatulent, overweight, leaning against a fence asleep, looking at a cactus, with a blanket with a hole in the middle as a coat". The Mexican ambassador to the UK, Eduardo Medina-Mora Icaza, complained to the BBC about the program’s "outrageous, vulgar and inexcusable insults". The BBC wrote a letter of apology to him saying the comments had been "rude" but were not vindictive.
