Iranian warships enter Red Sea

Iran's decision to send two navy ships through the Suez Canal has drawn condemnation from Israel.

It is the first time Iran's navy has passed the Israeli coast in years. While reportedly bound for Syria the vessels, an Mk-5 frigate and a supply vessel, will enter the Red Sea before continuing to the Mediterranean.

Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said it was time for the world to act.

"To my regret, the international community is not showing readiness to deal with the recurring Iranian provocations," he said.
