Happy St Patrick's Day!
March 17 has become renowned around the world as a celebration of Irish culture and today parades, green miso soup, shamrocks, leprechauns, Irish whiskey, folk dancing and other related behaviours will be worn, enjoyed and drunk in centres from as far afield as New York to Seoul and Sydney.
While the day has become a general celebration, March 17 was actually the date St Patrick died, an ordained bishop that worked for 20 years in Ireland establishing monasteries, schools and churches.
