Microsoft Lawsuit against Barnes & Noble

On Monday this week Microsoft Corp. filed a lawsuit against Barnes & Noble Inc. and two device manufacturers of its e-readers.

Microsoft Inc. alleges there was a patent infringement by Foxconn International Holdings and Inventec's e-reader and tablet devices. These companies manufacture the e-readers sold under the bookshop's brand.

In a statement, Microsoft's Deputy General Counsel for Intellectual Property and Licensing, Horacio Gutierrez, said, "companies manufacturing and shipping Android devices must respect our intellectual property rights".
