In something of an upmarket move, daily-deals website LivingSocial offered a $10,000 coupon for a penthouse suite in San Francisco last month.
LivingSocial and market rival Groupon Inc. have traditionally offered small-ticket items of just $20 to $50. But the move into luxury categories could herald a new era as they begin to pursue big business buyers.
